Bloodhound Rocket Car - Record Land Speed

Bloodhound is the amazing rocket car that will try to beat the land speed record that stands since 1997 when the Thrust SSC passed cleanly through the speed of sound at 763 mph. The new supercar will go far beyond touching one thousand mph.

Then translating that into mph would mean 1600km / h, breakneck speed, well above those of many planes, of course available for short stretches with a high risk by the pilot who actually travel on a real missile Wheel.

Thrust SSC's record could be so pulverized by Bloodhound, a car with a hybrid rocket powered by an engine with a triple engine jet - Eurojet EJ200 - and a 800 bhp V12 engine. In the picture above we are facing a full-scale prototype for a length of over 12 meters.

The first test of Bloodhound is scheduled for year end, the truth will probably attempt the classic route on the salt lake where the American car rocket launch in a return trip with the calculation of final average in the stretch run. And then you find out if it can beat the record of ten years.
